How it started
Kenneth Davis had a simple idea.
In 1975, Kenneth Davis opened Timberlake Insurance Agency on a belief that Lynchburg families deserved honest, personal insurance guidance from someone they could trust. A neighbor who knew their name and took the time to make sure they were covered right.
He built the agency the old-fashioned way — one relationship at a time. Clients stayed because Kenneth delivered. When something went wrong, he was there. When a policy didn't fit anymore, he said so. That kind of straight dealing earned a reputation that has lasted half a century.
Today, his children Mick Davis and Wendy Davis-Sterne run the agency their father built. They grew up in this business, watching their dad do right by clients year after year. That's not something you learn in a classroom — it's something you carry forward.
In 2025, Timberlake Insurance marked its 50th year serving Lynchburg and the surrounding communities.
